Narine Manukova

Narine Manukova is Director of Advertising and Marketing with Kolt Communications and takes a lead role in developing and implementing successful advertising and marketing plans and strategies for all of the firm's clients, including Lansing's Capital City Airport, the Greater Lansing Home Builders Association and others.

Manukova is involved in all aspects of media relations and coordinates public relations, communication and media placement activities. Manukova works with clients to develop positive statewide newspaper, radio and television coverage and helps clients create and coordinate media events, including news conferences, annual outings and other special projects.

Manukova also specializes in grant writing and was instrumental in securing a $75,000 "Able to Play" W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant to support the construction of a community playground for children of all abilities at Lansing's North Elementary School. Manukova prepared and submitted the grant application, and also facilitated positive TV news coverage resulting from the receipt of the grant. She also wrote several grants to support the HOPE Scholarship Program, which secured $130,000 in grant funds to help Lansing School District students facing personal and economic obstacles attend college.

Prior to joining Kolt Communications, Manukova served as a legislative assistant to Michigan State Representative Karen Willard, where she effectively coordinated the support of several interest groups on the representative's behalf. She worked extensively on utility deregulation legislation, and helped the representative prepare for required legislative action.

Manukova also handled a high volume of constituent cases and developed a system that allowed a large number of senior citizens who could not afford needed medicines to connect with a pharmaceutical donation program. She worked closely with school districts in St. Clair and Lapeer counties, organizing programs and parades, and educating children about the legislative process.

Manukova is currently attending Central Michigan University and is scheduled to complete a master's degree in administration in August 2006. Manukova graduated with a bachelor's degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University, having majored in International Relations. In 1999, Manukova received the Vernon Ehlers Legislative Award from James Madison College and the State Capitol in recognition of her outstanding work with Representative Willard.
